Around 75 per cent of all vacancies on All Police Jobs are for police support staff roles, these range from IT Technician to Accountant, from Talent Acquisition to Occupational Health Administrator. All great opportunities and yet forces were telling us that they were struggling to fill them so we decided to do something about it.
We knew the applicants were out there but with a name like All Police Jobs we also knew they may assume we only carry police uniform jobs. Our objective was to find ways to attract job seekers previously unaware of the huge opportunities in policing.
After a successful trial with Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire Police we discovered the answer is highly-targeted google advertising. This led to the launch of our Google Ad Boosters service nationally. A year on and the service is now used by dozens of police forces providing us with rich data on how well it is performing. We’re pleased to report the service has been a great success.
Every role boosted on Google saw and continues to see a significant increase (see table below) in clicks resulting in more applications from serious candidates.
We then looked at individual categories, to see which job type benefited, and as you can see below, all staff job types saw a considerable increase in traffic.
Similarly, we looked at different officer roles, and again were pleased to see all received a considerable boost in traffic.
The feedback we’ve received from forces** is that our google ad boosters have made a real difference to both the number and quality of applicants. We have been told that the number of applicants increased 3 fold for one IT job that we boosted and remarkably another force told us that their PCSO applications went up by 7 times once it was google ad boosted.
So, how does it work? Our philosophy at All Police Jobs has always been to reduce the workload for police recruitment departments. Our Google Ad Boosting service does exactly that. Let us know which job you’re struggling to fill, we’ll organise and complete all the google advert forms, then all you have to do is sit back and wait for the applications to roll in.
If you’d like to find out more about how we use google ads to increase applications for your vacancies, please contact Richard@allpolicejobs.co.uk.
**Please note, Google ad boosters are available as part of an annual subscription package. They can also be purchased on an individual basis.
