National Police Recruitment Hot Takes from 2025 - the last one might take you by surprise.

Every year at this time, we do a deep dive on our data for the lowdown on what's happening in the national UK police recruitment market.
The data collected daily by All Police Jobs means we have a good feel for the current national recruitment trends, and this time when we crunched the numbers, we thought we'd share our insights with you.

Here are our data 'hot takes' from 2025 and what we believe are drivers behind them.

A 37 per cent increase in traffic to All Police Jobs in 2025, compared to 2024.
This is likely a reflection of the current jobs market. And our continued high ranking in search engines

A 74 per cent increase in people looking for ex-police officer jobs.
We believe this is likely a combination of people resigning but wanting to use the skills they’ve acquired alongside those that have retired in their 50s but are looking to top up their pensions until state pension age.

A 43 per cent increase in people looking at Tech Support jobs and IT roles
Okay, we’re going to take the credit for this one. Our new google ad service for our subscribing forces directly targets new audiences previously unaware of the plethora of staff support opportunities in policing.

A 43 per cent jump in people looking to transfer to another police force.
Our transferred category continues to be a popular category, possibly because we’re the only job site that has all the transferee opportunities in one place.

But the biggest surprise of all... a 60 per cent increase in views of new police officer recruitment, making up nine per cent of our traffic, with 97,657 new officer jobs clicked.
This reverses several years of declining interest in new police officer roles, hence our double take. So why is this happening now? We suspect it’s a combination of the current jobs market and a fading awareness of some of the scandals previously impacting the general perception of policing.
