Do you want a policing role that’s fast paced, highly visible and genuinely impacts everyday life across Greater Manchester?

Greater Manchester Police is recruiting Constables to join our Transport Unit within the newly created Transport Policing and Crime Command department, a specialist team dedicated to keeping people safe on the transport network and road infrastructure. From tram stops and transport hubs to major road routes, you’ll be at the heart of policing where it matters most.

In this role, you’ll patrol the transport system, respond to incidents, tackle crime and anti social behaviour, and provide reassurance to the public. You’ll work closely with partners such as Transport for Greater Manchester and local authorities, taking a problem solving approach to improve safety, reduce disruption and boost public confidence. You may also investigate collisions involving Metrolink vehicles, including serious and complex incidents.

This is a varied and challenging role that suits motivated individuals who enjoy teamwork, engagement with diverse communities and operational policing. You’ll need strong communication skills, sound judgement and the ability to work confidently in dynamic environments.

Being a new role and a newly formed department, you will help shape how the the new unit polices the transport system.

The post offers excellent professional development, specialist operational experience and a minimum two year tenure in a high impact specialist unit.

The Transport unit will consist of four locations,

 Bury
 Central Park
 2 Piccadilly place ( a new bespoke office)
 Wythenshawe
