CICA (Criminal Injury Compensation Authority) Assistant - Grade C

We are looking for an enthusiastic, diligent, and hard-working person to join our busy Information Access Unit, which sits within the Information Management & Data Directorate  based at FHQ.

To perform this role, applicants should ideally have a good working knowledge of the Data Protection Act, a basic awareness of Information Security and knowledge of the basic principles of records management. You will have experience in the use of computer systems, standard software packages and the use of spreadsheets and databases and be proficient in writing letters and confident dealing with inbound and outbound calls with members of the public, Information applicants, third parties, Officers and a large part of the role is liaising with the Criminal Injury Compensation Authority. 

Applicants should possess the ability to work on a number of tasks simultaneously, managing a broad and divergent workload as well as having the ability to assimilate and analyse information quickly, while working to achieve targets and deadlines, and an understanding of data protection principles in relation to suitable redaction and disclosure.

This role has the potential to be a Hybrid role after successful completion of training and competency assessments. This means working hours can have some flexibility, to allow a good home/work/life balance, and there is an element of home working each week. Days spent in the Office will be at GMP Force Headquarters, Northampton Road, Manchester, M40 5BP.
