Telephone Researcher

Help improve police services by gathering vital feedback.

This is a part-time, evening role: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday – 18:00-21:00 with some flexibility required/available.

As a Telephone Researcher at Leicestershire Police, you will call members of the public who have had contact with the police to get their feedback and record accurate data in this vital role to improve service delivery.

*Due to the nature of the role, you must be at least 18 years old to apply.

We asked one of our Telephone Researchers about the role and what their favourite part about the role is:

"You'll be given surveys for different forces and on various incidents; then you'll start to make your calls and interview. You'll have a structured questionnaire to base this on, and we aim to achieve at least 3 interviews per hour. I usually work for 3 hours, but sometimes do overtime.

My favourite part of the job is interacting with people and hearing their stories. In many cases, it’s quite heart-warming to learn how the police have helped people and how respondents have turned their lives around. We occasionally also get to help people - pointing them in the right direction to access resources, or to get an update on their case. It’s rewarding to hit your interviewing targets, too."
