Join West Yorkshire Police as a Vetting Officer
West Yorkshire Police is seeking to recruit five motivated and professional Vetting Officers to join the Force Vetting Unit based at Brighouse.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to protecting the integrity, reputation, and operational effectiveness of the organisation by supporting the delivery of a professional and robust vetting service in line with national standards and the Vetting Code of Practice.
About the Role
As a Vetting Officer, you will support the Head of Vetting in delivering an effective vetting service, helping to ensure that those who work within, or alongside, West Yorkshire Police meet the standards required to maintain public trust and confidence.
The role involves researching, gathering and analysing information from a range of systems and sources, identifying any gaps or inconsistencies, and preparing accurate and comprehensive assessments to support vetting decision-making.
What We're Looking For
The successful candidates will demonstrate:
- The ability to complete and successfully pass the training required for the role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess information from multiple sources.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce clear, concise and accurate written reports and summaries.
- Previous office or administrative experience.
- Competence in the use of Microsoft Office applications and other computer-based systems.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload effectively.
Additional Information
The post holder may be required to work from other locations across the Force area as operational requirements dictate and must be willing and able to travel throughout West Yorkshire for business purposes.
