Workforce Planner - Hybrid Working

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Workforce Planning Assistant to join our Workforce Planning Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

In this varied and rewarding role, you will provide high-quality administrative and organisational support to the Head of Workforce Planning, helping to ensure the effective delivery of workforce plans, resourcing strategies, directorate objectives, and the management of the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship programme.

Working as part of a busy and supportive team, you will assist with the coordination of workforce planning activities, maintain accurate records, and help produce reports and information to support decision-making across the organisation.

In this role your main responsibilities will be:

  • Quality assuring of data and carrying out necessary research to provide clarity as to the change being requested to workforce trajectories.
  • Taking responsibility for the accurate and timely input of data, ensuring all relevant databases are up to date to inform offers and organisational decision making.
  • To compile data and statistical information in relation to Police Constable Degree Apprentices (PCDA) collectives, officer/staff vacancies, and Establishment information, to support workforce planning forecasters and the Talent Acquisition Team.
  • Monitoring of establishments ensuring accurate recording and highlighting and explaining any discrepancies, trends and changes to ensure the integrity of the organisation structure and workforce data.
  • Supporting the maintenance and monitoring of the Workforce Planning mailbox to ensure effective, appropriate and respectful interaction.
  • To work co-operatively with colleagues to contribute positively to the achievement of organisation objectives and to undertake any other HR work as directed, including working at different locations, to provide business continuity and to enable the HR team to fulfil Constabulary-wide needs. 

Skills and experience required:

  • Good working knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Office programmes and computer databases
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work to deadlines and meet competing demands
  • Proven ability to work with limited supervision
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
