The Role

As a Business Support Assistant, you will work within the Estates and Business Services Directorate, providing a comprehensive administrative support function to a wide range of Districts and Departments across the West Yorkshire Police Force. 

Key duties include:

  • Processing police and police staff overtime by coding claims to appropriate budgets 
  • Authorising requests for goods, services, equipment and consumables
  • Issuing petty cash and maintaining accurate records    
  • Receipting of cash, including banking of monies
  • Booking accommodation, travel, and car hire
  • Managing the database for clothing lockers, Airwave, and PAVA spray and issuing keys
  • Reception duties
  • Sorting and distribution mail and co-ordinating stock deliveries
  • Maintaining appropriate stock levels of stationery, operational equipment and supplies 
  • Facilitating a department mailbox by responding to a diverse range of requests and queries
  • Conduct engagement visits with different departments and Districts throughout the Force

 What We're Looking For

We are seeking candidates who:

  • Have previous experience in a customer focused environment and can demonstrate good communication skills
  • Can demonstrate strong levels of personal responsibility
  • Possess good IT literacy skills including Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Has the ability to complete relevant training including Manual Handling and DSE Assessor
  • Has a basic understanding of General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
