We are looking for a volunteer to assist the Lead Chaplain in the admin tasks associated with recruitment and support of volunteers.
We have a team of approximately 30 volunteer chaplains in TVP attached to different geographical police bases and station across the region. We continue to recruit new chaplains and so some support is required to assist with arranging interviews, ID’s, fob access, obtaining uniforms, keeping up to date records of our volunteer chaplains and setting up spreadsheets.
We support our chaplains by inviting them to cluster training meetings, events, and conferences. The volunteer would assist by arranging venues and catering, sending out invites, dealing with expense claims etc.
The use of Word, Outlook is essential and Excel is desirable. Social media familiarity would be welcome. If you have knowledge of Knowzone in TVP, that would be helpful but not essential.
If you have a few hours to spare (around 3 hours per week) then please complete the online application form. If you have any queries on completing the application form, please contact People Services Recruitment Department on 0845 2 66 66 77, quoting reference 24028. We will endeavour to respond to your query as quickly as possible.
Please use Google Chrome when completing your application, wherever possible, as this will enhance performance.
The closing date for enquiries and receipt of completed applications is Sunday 20 December 2026
Please note this vacancy may be removed once sufficient candidates have been sourced.
As a volunteer within the police service, you will be subjected to a level of police vetting. The level will be dependent upon the role and it’s access requirements. With the higher levels of vetting, applicants could be asked to provide details of family members, partner, partner’s parents and co-residents, as well as additional information regarding their own personal circumstances. This process is required to ensure that Thames Valley Police comply with the legislation of the Vetting Code of Practice
Whilst we endeavour to complete all vetting within 30 working days of receipt of vetting forms, unfortunately this is not always the case due to operational demand and back-logs, and could take considerably longer.
If you have any concerns or queries regarding your application please do not hesitate to get in touch.
