Job Title: UKFPU FBOA Administrator
Salary: The starting salary is £40,519, which includes allowances totalling £3,009.
The salary is broken down as £37,510 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £40,141. Plus, a location allowance of £2,009 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

The UK Football Policing Unit (UKFPU) operates within the business framework of the National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC) and sits under the National Police Coordination Centre (NPoCC). The UKFPU is a small team of 15 staff, made up of MET Police staff and two seconded police officers. The aim of the UKFPU is to work with police and partner agencies to reduce incidents of football related anti-social behaviour, violence and disorder involving UK supporters.
The core work of the UKFPU is to
- Coordinate policing activity to deliver domestic and overseas football policing operations
- Assist, engage and support police forces to enable effective and consistent operational delivery
- Deliver training and support professional development of police forces both domestically and overseas
- Provide support and act as a secretariat for the National Police Lead on Football Events
- Undertake the function/roles of the National Football Information Point and the Football Banning Order Authority.
This Vacancy
- Under the Football Spectator Act 1989 there must be a Football Banning Order Authority. Whose statutory role is to administer and enforce football banning orders when granted by courts in England and Wales. This activity fits within the UKFPU football policing unit as dictated by the Home Office.
- This post involves administrative support to all 43 Home Office Forces / BTP and Police Scotland on the legislation in relation to Football Banning Orders and the accurate recording on the national database of Football Banning Orders and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Football Banning Orders (FBOs) -The jobholder will receive and process new FBOs by checking court‑issued conditions for accuracy and liaising with courts to correct errors. They will update the national database.
- Monitor and Enforce Compliance– The jobholder will verify that individuals subject to FBOs meet their reporting requirements, including signing on at police stations and providing required documentation.
- Handle Applications and Breaches- The jobholder will review early termination applications and prepare briefings for senior decision‑makers. They will create case files and witness statements for suspected breaches.
- Administer Passport Surrender Processes– They will coordinate the issuing of surrender notices and assess exemption requests ahead of international fixtures and tournaments, often at scale and sometimes at short notice.
- Provide Reporting, Intelligence and Operational Support -The jobholder will produce management information, support annual national statistics, and liaises with partners such as the Passport Office and football authorities.
- Office Support- The jobholder will provide support to others areas of the UKFPU as directed by LM or a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Flexible working arrangements are welcomed at UKFPU, but there is an expectation because of some specific work you will own that you will attend work in London at our offices at Broadway London whenever needed.
