An exciting opportunity to help shape a Trauma-Informed and Responsive Bedfordshire
Are you passionate about creating lasting change and improving outcomes for people and communities?
The Police and Crime Commissioner for Bedfordshire is seeking an ambitious individual to lead a pioneering programme of work that will help create a more trauma-responsive Bedfordshire. This is a unique opportunity to influence how organisations across the county work together to understand trauma, respond to adversity, and build services that support individuals, families and communities more effectively.
You will bring together partners from policing, local authorities, health, education, and the voluntary and community sector to drive meaningful cultural and system-wide change. You will play a key role in developing a shared vision for Bedfordshire, ensuring trauma-responsive principles are embedded across policy, commissioning, decision-making and service delivery.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape both the role and the future direction of the programme. You will have the opportunity to map current trauma-responsive activity across the county, identify strengths, opportunities and gaps, and work with partners to design and develop a shared roadmap for change. Rather than delivering a pre-defined programme, you will play a central role in creating it, building on existing good practice and helping to develop a sustainable, system-wide approach that reflects the needs and ambitions of Bedfordshire.
What you'll do
As the Trauma-Responsive Systems Manager, you will:
- Lead the development and delivery of Bedfordshire's journey towards becoming a Trauma-Responsive County.
- Work with senior leaders and partners to create a shared vision and coordinated approach to change.
- Promote evidence-based, trauma-responsive approaches across organisations and services.
- Build strong partnerships and influence decision-makers across multiple sectors.
- Develop implementation plans, monitor progress and measure impact.
- Support workforce development through training.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience of leading or influencing complex system change and partnership working.
- Understands trauma, adversity, inequality and their impact on individuals and communities.
- Has excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
- Can translate research, evidence and insight into practical action.
- Is passionate about improving outcomes and reducing inequalities.
- Has experience working within or alongside public sector and partnership environments.
What we offer
- The opportunity to lead a high-profile and innovative programme of work.
- A chance to make a lasting difference to residents and communities across Bedfordshire.
- Flexible and agile working arrangements, combining home working with attendance at Bedfordshire Police Headquarters and partnership locations across the county.
- The opportunity to work with committed partners who share a vision for improving lives and strengthening communities.
If you want to be part of an ambitious programme that will help create a more trauma-responsive Bedfordshire, improve outcomes for residents and shape a new county-wide approach to supporting people and communities, we would love to hear from you.
