The Opportunity
As a Transport & Support Technician, you will carry out essential maintenance, diagnostics, and commissioning work across a diverse fleet. You’ll support operational readiness by ensuring vehicles and associated equipment are safe, compliant, and fully equipped for service.
Main responsibilities:
- Commissioning vehicles, alongside technicians, and keeping records of such work
- Decommissioning vehicles, alongside technicians, and keeping records of such work
- Support mechanics with fault diagnosis and component installation, and repair minor vehicle faults
- Fit and remove telematics equipment, and diagnose faults
- Fitting vehicle tyres to rims
- Cycle servicing
- Assisting with radio upgrades
- Vehicle livery
- Monitoring recovery jobs, checking mileages, and authorising payments
- Uploading service sheets, brake tests and other external documentation to SharePoint
- Carrying out fabrication jobs alongside the technicians or alone
- Arranging and managing on-site waste disposal
What We’re Looking For
- A relevant Level 2 technical qualification or proven experience in vehicle commissioning, decommissioning, fleet management, or logistics
- Proficiency with vehicle diagnostic tools and fleet management software
- Strong understanding of vehicle technologies, specifications, and relevant legislation
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong organisational and documentation abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
- Confidence in engaging with industry experts and stakeholders
