We are inviting substantive PCSOs from Home Office forces across the country to transfer to British Transport Police. We are the national police force responsible for policing the railways and stations across Great Britain.
Our PCSOs play a vital role in frontline policing, providing reassurance, building relationships, and supporting safe travel for millions of passengers every day.

The role
Like Home Office PCSOs, BTP PCSOs focus on community engagement and enforcing BTP Byelaws within the railway environment.
This is a varied and dynamic role where no two days are the same. Responsibilities include:
Unlike many Home Office forces, BTP PCSOs are trained and equipped with handcuffs.
We are looking for confident, resilient individuals with excellent communication and customer service skills. A genuine passion for community engagement and partnership working is essential.
You must be prepared to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
Locations
This is a nationwide opportunity, with roles available across England, Scotland and Wales.
Successful applicants will join a national pool and may be deployed to a range of locations depending on operational need. This includes major rail hubs, regional stations and key transport routes across the network.

You will be ineligible if:
Pension
BTP offers the GPP Police Staff Pension Scheme, administered by Royal London.
Employees can contribute between 4.4 percent and 12 percent of salary. Existing members of the Railway Pension Scheme will not be affected.
