Counter Terrorism Policing North West is a collaboration of the Five Forces in the North West of England who are dedicated in the fight against the terrorist and extreme right-wing threat facing the UK and overseas countries.
As a surveillance officer you will form part of the Operations Support strand of CTPNW and will provide surveillance coverage of CT and ERWT targets, not only in the North West but across the country when required.
In addition to protecting the communities of the North West, the CTPNW also works hand in hand with the CTP South East, CTP North East, West Midlands CTU, Counter Terrorism Command and a network of Counter Terrorism Intelligence Units (CTIUs) to ensure that the United Kingdom is able to manage the threat from terrorism.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an exciting and highly specialised area of policing. You need to have attention to detail and be prepared to work flexibly. In return you will have a rewarding role at the forefront of the UK's fight against terrorism.
In this role, you will undertake covert, mobile, technical and foot surveillance in order to obtain intelligence and evidence to assist an investigation or operation.
CTPNW would welcome applications from highly motivated, committed and flexible officers who have a proven experience working within surveillance teams.
To be part of the CTPNW Surveillance Team there is an expectation that you are willing to work regionally and nationally for extended periods of time, as well as undertaking long and unsocial working hours often with changes being made at short notice, and some working away from home/overnight stays.
This will be a posting for Greater Manchester Police officers, secondment opportunity for Officers from the Regional Forces, or transfer to Greater Manchester Police for those from outside the North West region.
