Role Profile: Traffic Bureau Support Officer
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Traffic Bureau Support Officer to join our Criminal Justice – Crime Operations team based at Athena House, York.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to play a key role in supporting North Yorkshire Police’s safety camera operations and traffic enforcement processes. Through this work, you will contribute directly to improving road safety across our communities.
This role would suit someone with strong administration experience who enjoys working accurately with detailed information, managing competing priorities, and delivering excellent customer service in a busy office environment.
Key Responsibilities
- View and validate offences captured by safety cameras
- Create and manage enforcement records and notices, including Notices of Intended Prosecution and Speed Awareness Offers
- Administer Fixed Penalty Notices and Road Traffic Offence Reports
- Process responses and follow-up enquiries relating to untraced vehicle owners
- Maintain accurate paper and electronic records
- Prepare court files and assist with correspondence relating to speed management processes
- Provide general administrative support including filing, photocopying and minute-taking
What We’re Looking For
- Proven administration experience within a busy office environment
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy when processing information
- Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
- Strong organisational skills and a professional approach to handling confidential information
