Staff - Workforce Planning Management Information Officer

Northamptonshire Police and Fire Enabling Services are seeking an experienced and analytical Management Information Officer to join the Workforce Planning team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in transforming workforce data into meaningful insights that support strategic decision-making across the organisation.

About the Role

As the HR Management Information Officer, you will be responsible for managing, analysing and interpreting workforce data to support organisational priorities and operational effectiveness. You'll work with large and complex datasets, ensuring data quality and integrity whilst producing insightful management information, reports, forecasts and recommendations.

Working closely with senior leaders and stakeholders, you will:

  • Produce and develop HR management information, reports and dashboards.
  • Analyse workforce trends, risks and opportunities to support decision making.
  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency and quality of HR data.
  • Support organisational change, reviews and improvement projects through business analysis.
  • Provide evidence-based recommendations and advice to senior managers.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and support the development of efficient business processes.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and information governance requirements.

About You

We are looking for someone who can combine excellent analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly to a range of audiences.

You will have:

  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working within a Management Information, HR, Workforce Planning, Data Analysis or similar environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including the use of pivot tables, charts and complex data analysis techniques.
  • Experience extracting, analysing and interpreting data from management information systems.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to present complex findings and recommendations in a clear and engaging way.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • A commitment to data integrity, confidentiality, equality, diversity and inclusion.
