The principal responsibility of the Specialist Problem Solver is to deliver, with partners, dedicated and professional problem solving that supports the prevention of crime, the management of risk, safeguards the vulnerable and contributes to community wellbeing. In addition, to work with partners in order to manage down demand on the police service and identify issues not relevant to police or a policing lead. The role holder needs to have the ability and authority to work with partners, community organisations and other members of the force to drive long term problem solving and prevention activity.
This role supports fully the force mission, our organisational priorities and the OPCC Policing Plan. In particular, this will be achieved by:
Acting as a Specialist Problem Solver
In particular, to be tasked with problem solving activity via the National Intelligence Model and appropriate strategic forums; co-ordinate problem solving around emerging risks; contribute to “Evidence Based Policing”; interrogate, interpret and analyse data from internal and external sources; embed problem solving across all force resources and ‘Quality Assure’ problem solving activity.
Acting as a Partnership Fulcrum
Act as a single point of contact for Community Safety Partnership Lead Officers; develop effective relationships and networks; represent the police at appropriate partner agency meetings and identify the most appropriate resources to deliver problem solving activity.
