About the role 

As Service Owner, you will lead the vision, strategy and evolution of critical digital, data and technology services, ensuring they remain user-centred, innovative and focused on delivering meaningful outcomes. You will bring together multidisciplinary teams, data-driven decision making and continuous improvement to create services that are trusted, resilient and responsive to the needs of modern policing. What you will be doing  

  • Own the end-to-end service for your assigned service domain, with full accountability for service vision, strategy, performance, outcomes, benefits and user experience. 
  • Set, maintain and continuously evolve the service strategy and roadmap, grounded in user insight, evidence, organisational priorities and relevant standards. 
  • Define and use service success measures and KPIs to monitor service health, prioritise improvement and demonstrate value. 
  • Prioritise and sponsor service change, balancing user needs, operational priorities, policy requirements, risk and available funding. 
  • Ensure proportionate governance, assurance and risk management are in place across security, resilience, compliance, data protection and operational risk. 
  • Be accountable for live service performance, including availability, reliability, resilience and user satisfaction. 
  • Use user feedback, operational insight and performance data to drive continuous improvement and inform service evolution, replacement or retirement decisions. 
  • Build strong senior stakeholder relationships and create the conditions for high-performing, multidisciplinary teams with a culture of accountability, trust and user focus. 

 About you and your experience  

  • You are a user-centred digital leader who is passionate about delivering outstanding user outcomes and shaping services around the needs of users. 
  • Experienced in leading and evolving digital, data and technology services, using insight, evidence and performance data to drive continual improvement and measurable value. 
  • Comfortable operating in a multidisciplinary environment, influencing senior stakeholders and making decisions that balance user needs, business priorities, risk and investment. 
  • Excited by innovation and emerging technologies, with the ability to identify opportunities to improve services through modern digital approaches, automation, data and AI-enabled capabilities. 
  • Skilled in creating the conditions for high-performing teams to thrive, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement and strong user focus. 
  • Hold ITIL 4 Foundation certification. 
  • Hold ITIL 4 Managing Professional certification.
