We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Server and Cloud Engineer within the IT Department.
This role sits within our 3rd Line Server team and plays a key part in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our infrastructure. You will work alongside Network and Security colleagues to support and enhance our hybrid server and storage environment, helping to maintain the high standards required across the force.

What You’ll Be Doing- Providing 3rd line support for escalated incidents, service requests, and problems
- Managing and maintaining our hybrid server and storage estate
- Supporting infrastructure design, implementation, and improvement initiatives
- Proactively monitoring systems (e.g. via SolarWinds) to ensure service availability
- Applying patching, updates, and security controls to protect force systems
- Working with Security and Information Management teams to address IT Health Check findings
- Producing and maintaining technical documentation and procedures
- Supporting system onboarding into standard monitoring and alerting platforms
- Identifying trends and recommending service improvements
- Participating in the IT on-call rota

Additional Information- This role includes participation in the out-of-hours on-call rota
- Internal applicants should discuss their interest with their line manager before applying
- The Server Engineer role will also carry a requirement to assist the DFU unit server environment with regards Windows patching; recommendations from yearly health checks on the domain as well as other tickets raised by DFU, this is a 50/50 split between Lincs Police and DFU and will be based primarily with the Server Team in the Bichard building. This will not be a contracted commitment under the JD, but business as usual tasking to support existing engagement with the DFU and expected as part of the post alongside other tasks.
