Senior Leadership Assistant (Maternity Cover)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Senior Leadership Assistant to support the Chief Superintendent and Senior Leadership Team within the Command Directorate. This is a pivotal role providing a first-class, confidential administrative and secretarial service, ensuring the smooth and effective running of the business area. Working with minimal supervision, you will play an integral part in forward planning, stakeholder collaboration, and driving the delivery of key organisational objectives.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Delivering high-quality administrative and secretarial support, including diary and inbox management, correspondence handling, and document preparation
  • Coordinating meetings and events at local, regional, and national levels, including agenda setting, minute taking, and action tracking
  • Managing Senior Leadership schedules, travel arrangements, and briefing materials to ensure efficient decision-making
  • Acting as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, handling complex enquiries with professionalism and discretion
  • Leading on the planning and delivery of departmental events, including conferences, training days, and awards ceremonies
  • Supporting operational, HR, finance, and performance meetings, ensuring accurate records and follow-up of actions
  • Preparing reports, briefings, presentations, and speeches for senior leaders
  • Monitoring budgets, procurement processes, and maintaining accurate financial and asset records
  • Supporting inspections, major incidents, and strategic meetings as required
