About the role 

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Networks), you will play a key role in designing, delivering and supporting the secure, resilient and high-performing network services that enable modern policing. Working across on-premise, cloud and hybrid environments, you'll help shape network solutions that underpin critical digital and operational services. Collaborating with architects, engineers and security specialists, you'll drive continuous improvement, strengthen operational resilience and contribute to the delivery of innovative technologies that support frontline policing and the communities we serve. 

What you will be doing  

  • Design, build and support enterprise network services across on-premise, cloud and hybrid environments. 
  • Provide technical expertise across LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, firewall, routing and connectivity platforms. 
  • Translate approved network architectures into secure, supportable and operationally effective solutions. 
  • Ensure network services meet security, resilience and service acceptance requirements before going live. 
  • Monitor network performance and capacity, proactively identifying risks and improvement opportunities. 
  • Investigate and resolve complex network incidents and problems, driving root cause analysis and preventative improvements. 
  • Provide senior technical input to projects, service transitions and the introduction of new technologies. 
  • Mentor colleagues, share technical expertise and help develop network engineering capability across the team.

About you and your experience  

  • ITIL 4 Foundation certification. 
  • Degree in Computing, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience in enterprise network engineering. 
  • Industry-recognised networking certification such as Cisco CCNA, Juniper JNCIA or equivalent. 
  • Demonstrable experience supporting and operating enterprise network services within live service environments. 
  • Strong expertise across LAN, WAN, routing, switching, wireless networking and firewall technologies. 
  • Experience delivering secure, resilient and high-performing network solutions that support business-critical services. 
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with modern DDaT, networking and cloud technologies.
