Location: Northallerton Headquarters with hybrid working
Contract: Permanent Contractually employed by NYP
Hours: Full time however Part-time – flexible working considered
Salary: PO 3 – 6, £43,668 - £47,046

Our Support Service functions work in collaboration across North Yorkshire Police and North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, providing vital shared expertise to deliver efficient and effective service to our communities.
The Opportunity
We are looking for experienced and passionate HR professional to join our People Services team on a permanent basis. The Senior HR Advisor provides high level guidance, credible and timely advice and solutions to business leaders and key stakeholders on complex people management and employee relations matters, in accordance with relevant procedures, best practice, regulation or legislation as applicable. Areas covered will include but are not limited to T&C’s, sickness absence, discipline, grievance, pensions and performance.
You will play a key role in the development and maintenance and management of relevant frameworks, procedures, and policies, identifying and addressing any impact. You will ensure appropriate consultation and statutory and legal compliance is undertaken and provide proactive support and solutions through maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current and impending legislation and case law.
You will be responsible for undertaking project work on a wide range of people topics as well as proactively analysing HR and people data to identify capability gaps, develop initiatives and collaborate with business leaders to support the people agenda and wider ambitions of the service.
You will be expected to build strong advisory and stakeholder relationships both internally and externally, with the ability to work autonomously whilst managing HR Advisors to ensure delivery of an efficient and effective service.
What We’re Looking For:
· Be Chartered Member of the CIPD (or with an equivalent level of experience)
· Be proficient at stakeholder management with demonstrable experience of offering high quality
· Demonstrable experience of leading complex employee relations casework and advising senior managers in a regulated and unionised environment.
· Possess a strong knowledge of employee relations, UK legislation and case law and the ability to understand and identify risks and benefits
· Bring highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, an analytical mind-set, and possess excellent problem solving, influencing skills in addition to planning and organising skills.
· Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and IT systems with a high level of attention to detail and be comfortable with producing and presenting accurate data and information.
