Senior HR Administrator
Location: Headquarters, Northallerton with opportunity for hybrid working
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full Time, 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday
Salary: Scale 4,£27204 - £29859 per annum

As a Senior HR Administrator, you’ll provide accurate, timely support across the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding through to changes and leavers. You’ll be a trusted point of contact for managers and colleagues, using your knowledge and attention to detail to keep processes efficient, compliant and consistently customer focused.
What you’ll do:
- Provide advanced HR administration across the full employee lifecycle – onboarding, contractual changes, payroll updates, employee records and offboarding.
- Act as an escalation point for complex and sensitive queries, providing accurate guidance and practical problem-solving.
- Maintain high standards of data integrity, confidentiality and compliance with employment law, statutory requirements and data protection.
- Quality assure HR transactions through regular checks, workflow monitoring and audit activity.
- Prepare, validate and present people data, spotting trends, risks and anomalies and escalating where needed.
- Build team capability by coaching and supporting HR Administrators to deliver a consistent, high-quality service.
- Work closely with colleagues across Recruitment, Payroll, Vetting, ICT, Health & Wellbeing and Learning & Development to deliver a seamless employee experience.
- Support continuous improvement by helping develop and maintain process guides, templates, FAQs and self-service resources.
- Provide executive-level administrative and diary support to the Director of People Services and Senior Management Team.
What we’re looking for:
- Significant experience delivering high-quality HR administration/operational HR services in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong working knowledge of HR processes and relevant UK employment legislation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with confidence dealing with employees, managers and stakeholders.
- Highly organised, accurate and detail-focused, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and HR systems, with a strong focus on data quality.
- Proven ability to support, coach or mentor colleagues to improve consistency and performance.
