About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Cyber Security Analyst to play a leading role in protecting the organisation's information assets, systems, networks, and services from evolving cyber threats. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced cyber security professional to provide technical leadership, drive security improvements, and help shape the organisation's cyber security strategy in line with national policing standards and best practice.

What You'll Be Doing

As a senior technical specialist, you will lead security monitoring, threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management activities across the organisation. You will work with technologies including Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, and Palo Alto security platforms, ensuring security controls are effective, optimised, and aligned to organisational needs.

You will be responsible for developing and improving security monitoring capabilities, conducting proactive threat hunting, leading remediation activities, and embedding secure-by-design principles across projects and services. In addition, you will provide day-to-day guidance and mentoring to Security Analysts while acting as a senior escalation point for cyber security incidents and risks.

You will have strong technical knowledge of security technologies such as Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM/SOAR), Azure, and Palo Alto security solutions, together with the ability to design and implement effective security controls across complex environments.

You should be capable of leading technical investigations, driving security improvements, and communicating complex security matters to a range of stakeholders. Experience mentoring colleagues, influencing security best practice, and working collaboratively across technical teams will be essential to success in this role.
