The opportunity:
Are you looking for your next exciting career move? National Police Chiefs Council, through their Less Lethal Weapons Portfolio hosted by British Transport Police have an excellent secondment opportunity for a Police Sergeant to join the NPCC Less Lethal Weapons Department. As an NPCC Less Lethal Weapons Police Sergeant, you will provide specialist national support to the NPCC Less Lethal Weapons (LLW) portfolio. You will coordinate day-to-day activity across a broad range of LLW projects, maintain critical partnerships, and ensure forces and agencies receive timely, expert advice on the use, development, governance and scrutiny of LLW capabilities. The role contributes to national policy, continuous improvement, operational assurance and stakeholder engagement in an area of high public interest and operational importance.

This secondment is open to external applicants currently employed by a UK Police Force.
The secondment requires the agreement of the applicant’s current employer. BTP will work with the seconding organisation to agree terms.
Vetting: Successful applicants will be required to pass Recruitment Vetting (3 years minimum UK residency required), including a full background and financial disclosure.
Medical: We’ll ask for relevant health and medical history details to support employee wellbeing.
References: We’ll ask for references to cover the past 5 years.
**Applicants for our locations outside of Inner London must hold a full UK driving licence**
