Post – Research Officer – Major, Serious & Organised Crime (MSOC) 
Salary - Scale: 4 - £27,204-£29,859
Location – Harrogate, with some flexibility to work in other locations such as York - Fulford Road or Tadcaster, this is subject to management agreement.
Training Period - Initial training period of 6 months will need to be based in Harrogate.
Contract - Permanent – Full-Time – 37.5 hours per week
Hours – Monday – Thursday 08:00 – 16:00 - Friday 08:00 – 15:30

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Researcher to join our Major, Serious & Organised Crime (MSOC) .

 

As a Researcher in the Major, Serious & Organised Crime (MSOC) you will gather information from multiple systems and produce reports to assist with Investigations.

 

Our ideal candidate will have previous experience of research and have the ability to interrogate computerised databases and have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. To complete open-source research in order to add value, build an intel picture and provide evidence to assist with building a picture of investigations.

 

Skills and experience required:

  • Accuracy with data inputting
  • Excellent communication skills in order to liaise with internal stakeholders and external agencies.
  • Exceptional time management and prioritisation skills in order to work to specific time schedules.
  • Key skills in research
  • Digital technology and Social media knowledge is a key element to build case profiles, so you have to be tech savvy. 
  • Understanding how to extract data and look for patterns and analyse this data.
  • Writing up reports.

·       Hold a full UK manual driving licence
