About The Role
An exciting opportunity to join Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary as a Research and Learning Officer, helping to drive evidence-informed policing and organisational learning across the force. The role focuses on ensuring that insight from research, evaluation, inspections and operational activity is translated into meaningful improvements for our communities, our workforce and the way we deliver policing.
The successful person will play an important role in our organisational learning project, helping to collate, analyse and track learning from a range of sources, identify themes and gaps, and support the organisation to turn learning into action. This includes connecting learning with evidence-based practice so that the force can better understand what works, what needs to improve, and where future training, development or change activity may be needed.
The role will suit someone who is curious, analytical and collaborative, with the confidence to work across teams and with external partners. You will be comfortable interpreting research and evidence, asking thoughtful questions, drawing out key insights and presenting findings clearly to a range of audiences, including senior leaders.
We are looking for someone who can bring structure, curiosity and decision making to a varied portfolio of research and learning activity. You may already have experience in research, evaluation, organisational learning, analysis, continuous improvement or a related field. You will be able to work with complex information and communicate findings in a way that supports informed decision-making. You will also build effective relationships with external partners and academic institutions, including the University of Portsmouth and other P-ACEs.
