Recruitment Business Partner (Secondment/Fixed Term Contract)

12 month Secondment / Fixed Term Contract

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us in a role that sits at the heart of shaping the future of Thames Valley Police. This will be a 12 month internal Secondment or Fixed Term Contract for external applicants. Secondments from other public sector organisations can be explored subject to negotiation.

As the lead for our recruitment function, you’ll ensure we attract, select and welcome talented people from all backgrounds, Police Officers, Police Staff, Volunteers and Special Constables, who reflect our values and our communities. You’ll help bring in individuals who are motivated to serve and protect the public, uphold the highest standards of fairness and respect, and contribute to a force our communities can trust and be proud of.

Working closely with the Workforce Planning Business Partner and under the direction of the Head of Workforce Planning and Recruitment, you’ll lead a busy, high‑impact function responsible for identifying talent, improving processes and delivering a positive candidate experience. This is an opportunity to use your leadership, insight and creativity to ensure TVP has the right people, in the right roles, at the right time, people who want to make a difference.

If you’re passionate about modern, values‑driven recruitment and helping to build a workforce that truly represents the communities we serve, we’d be delighted to hear from you.

This is a hybrid role which currently reflects 3 days working from home and 2 days office based, however this will flex on any given week and more office based working can be accommodated.

If you are a permanent member of staff applying for this role, please note it will be offered on a secondment basis. Important: All secondments must be supported in writing by your Line Manager and Head of Department/Commander or Deputy. Please attach written approval from your line manager and Head of Department in your application. If the secondment is not supported then the role may be offered on a fixed term contract basis, but this has implications including loss of continuous service protections.

Please note: Shift allowance, on-call or other job related allowances from the previous role will not be protected unless they are attached to the new role for the duration of the secondment.

As part of the Thames Valley Police family you will enjoy a fantastic range of benefits including 30 days annual leave per annum, pro-rata for part time (plus Bank Holidays), flexible working conditions, a wide range of lifestyle discounts, career development opportunities and have the option to join a local government pension scheme. For more information on our benefits, please visit the supporting you page, via the link at the bottom of the advert.
