A vacancy has arisen within the Regional Sensitive Intelligence Unit (SIU) at the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit (YHROCU) presenting a rare chance to become part of a well-established team working collaboratively with the NCA, four Regional Police Forces and broader Law Enforcement Partners to lead the Yorkshire and Humber Region's fight against serious and organised criminality.
Job Role: You will be responsible for:
- A range of functions including the creation and development of research, management of the units mailboxes, the review, development and dissemination of sensitive intelligence product in support of strategic and operational objectives whilst protecting all covert sources from which the intelligence was derived.
- You will represent the Yorkshire and Humber SIU at Regional and National forums and support our Regional Forces, Senior Investigating Officers and other Law Enforcement Agencies in relation to the specialist tactics provided by the SIU.
- You will support the deployment of highly sensitive tactics and the quality assurance of time critical intelligence to enable effective management and mitigation of significant threat, harm and risk in a fast paced and constantly evolving environment.
- Interrogate IT databases and obtain information from external sources to provide up to date, relevant intelligence to facilitate investigations, ensuring compliance with all current legislation and best practice.
Essential Criteria:
- Proven experience within an intelligence environment and experience of research.
- Good working knowledge of, and ability to operate, computerised databases.
- Can demonstrate experience of writing structured reports.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
- Ability to work in a high pressure environment and to tight deadlines.
- Ability and willingness to complete IPP accreditation for the role.
Successful applicants will be expected to under-go SC and STRAP vetting (if not already held) and at a future time the successful applicant may require additional enhanced vetting levels (DV).
