This role is open to accredited Financial Investigators to join the Yorkshire and Humber regional organised crime unit.

Senior Financial Investigator – Regional Economic Crime Unit
Wakefield
Full-time – 37 hours
Salary: POB - £44,700 - £48,459; plus, market factor increase of £9,127 (agreed until 31/05/27 then subject to review)

Applications are invited from experienced financial investigators, who are accredited with the National Crime Agency to join the Yorkshire & Humber Regional Economic Crime Unit based in the Wakefield area.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the work of the Regional Economic Crime Unit (RECU) in the fight against serious organised crime. In this role, you will supervise a team that undertakes a wide breath of complex investigations including confiscation and restraint, Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 Part 5 investigations and non-conviction based High Court Civil investigations.

The role requires the ability to build, collaborate with and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Your work will be undertaken in partnership with colleagues from across the Regional Organised Crime Unit, the regional police forces, the National Crime Agency, HMCTS, the regional prison estate and other law enforcement partners involved in tackling criminal finances. The successful candidate will need to have an experienced background in financial investigation and working in an intelligence-led policing environment.

We are looking for an individual with enthusiasm, drive and commitment who will have an ability to engage positively with partners, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines. The role will provide experience and development of managing performance, attendance and wellbeing of staff to ensure they are supported in accordance with HR policies and procedures.

The team consists of Police Staff Accredited Financial Investigators and Intelligence Development Officers.

The successful candidate must be prepared to work flexible hours to meet operational requirements and be willing to travel when required across the region and throughout the UK.
You should hold a full UK/European driving license.
