We are looking for dedicated and motivated individuals to join the Office of Durham Police and Crime Commissioner, helping to protect our communities and deliver an outstanding service. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful work where your skills and commitment will make a real impact.

The Role

To deliver a high-quality, trauma-informed support service to victims and survivors of sexual violence, ensuring that individuals receive compassionate, person-centred assistance throughout their journey towards safety, wellbeing, recovery, and social inclusion.

The post holder will provide coordinated and personalised support, empowering individuals to make informed choices and access the services they need. Through the development of trusting, professional, and collaborative relationships, the role will help victims and survivors navigate complex systems, reduce barriers to support, and improve outcomes.

Working in partnership with Durham Constabulary, the Victim Care and Mentor Service (VCAMS), and the Rape and Sexual Abuse Counselling Centre (RSACC), the role will support the effective delivery of the sexual violence support pathway, ensuring timely referrals, seamless communication, and a coordinated multi-agency response.

The post holder will actively promote awareness and understanding of specialist sexual violence services, including the role of Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVAs), across Durham Constabulary and partner agencies. They will maintain a visible and accessible presence within Police Safeguarding Hubs, providing specialist knowledge, advice, and support to professionals, while strengthening partnership working and improving pathways for victims and survivors.

Through effective advocacy, partnership engagement, and safeguarding practices, the role will contribute to improving victim experiences, increasing access to specialist services, and supporting individuals to achieve sustainable recovery and long-term resilience.

As part of our team, the post holder will play a vital role in supporting the priorities of the Police and Crime Commissioner and delivering a first-class service for victims of crime
