Job Title: PC/DC- Force Precision SOC Development Team
Location: Ridings House, Wakfefield
Contract: 2 Full time Permanent positions.

The Force Precision Organised Crime unit are at the forefront of this work.
Applications are invited from Detective Constables or Police Constables who are on the ICIDP program and working towards achieving PIP 2 accreditation, or those who are looking to apply for the PIP 2 process to join the Force Precision SOC Development Team.
To be eligible to apply you must be in date for your Public and Personal Safety Training (PPST), be exempted due to a medical condition or pregnancy, or able to provide confirmation from your line manager where exceptional circumstances have prevented you from undertaking your PPST.
The successful applicant will join a team of detectives who are responsible for developing intelligence in relation to Serious Organised Crime and emerging threats.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commence and progress proactive covert investigations utilising all available covert and proactive tactics to fully understand the roles of individuals within the criminality under investigation, exploiting all available opportunities to obtain a successful prosecution.
- The types of crime range from large scale drug supply, possession and supply of firearms, exploitation of vulnerable individuals and human trafficking.
- Identify opportunities for early interventions and be responsible as the OIC, for progressing the case to CPS and securing long term convictions.
- Offer covert advice and support to ongoing Homicide enquiries, using sensitive and covert tactics to obtain sufficient evidence to support the most serious of charges.
- The team also plays a vital role in any force critical man hunts and crimes in action when the circumstances require it.
What we are looking for:
- Enthusiastic, motivated, and dedicated individuals to join a team which will offer opportunities to develop and specialise in all aspects of covert investigations.
- Display a proactive mindset with experience of developing intelligence, or information to achieve an objective.
- Demonstrates an up-to-date knowledge of law in relation to the investigation of serious crime with reference to IPA, RIPA, CPIA, ECHR, Data Protection legislation and guidance regarding the Recording and Dissemination of Intelligence Material.
- Previous experience in the investigation of Serious and complex crime
- Holds a full current UK/ European driving licence
