The main purpose of the role is to plan, lead and oversee all configuration activities for software or systems (including the Records Management System), ensuring that software and hardware quality meets Warwickshire Police goals by defining test strategy, creating test scripts and data, creating and executing the test plan with key resources, including defect management.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage the Configuration and Release process efficiency of the Force RMS and any other designated Force applications
- Develop comprehensive test strategies that define standards, test tools, and data for the Warwickshire Police’s Records Management System
- To create a detailed test and release plan that includes (but not limited to) unit, system, integration, regression test relating to functional, non-functional, security related pen tests and disaster recovering testing
- Coordinate and supervise testing activities (manual and automated) to ensure thoroughness
- Ensure software releases meets quality standards, functions correctly, and aligns with user requirements
- Ensure compliance with policing data governance, retention, and audit requirements, whilst ensuring documentation is up to date and available in the Force Knowledge library
- Identifies and escalates potential issues, risks and bottlenecks early in the processes to Programme/Project Manager/Head of Service
- Produces reports on Test progress, defect status and overall quality to Programme SLT Team
- Provide expert user advice to system admins, business teams, managers and users of the RMS and other Force designated applications
- Lead a high-performing team of 2 x Configuration Analysts, ensuring effective management of configuration processes, driving performance, quality, and continuous improvement across services and systems
- All members of the workforce are to comply with all Health and Safety regulations in accordance with the Warwickshire Police Health and Safety Policy
- To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required
Special Conditions:
Requirement to participate in on call rota
Regular travel throughout Warwickshire.
