Counter Terrorism Policing Wales (CTPW) invites applications for the role of Prison Intelligence Officer.
An exciting opportunity is available to join the CTPW Prisons Team. Counter Terrorism Policing is a national collaboration of UK police forces working with the UK Intelligence Community to protect the public and national security by preventing, disrupting and investigating terrorist activity.
As a Prison Intelligence Officer, you will develop and manage intelligence from HM Prison Service partners to identify, assess and mitigate threats relating to terrorism, extremism and radicalisation within the prison environment. The role involves conducting intelligence-led investigations, managing threat and risk, and working closely with partner agencies using both overt and covert tactics.
Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to travel to attend prisons across Wales. Travel to prisons elsewhere in the United Kingdom may also be required in support of operations.
Applicants should have experience of working within an intelligence, investigative or similar operational environment and be willing to undertake specialist Counter Terrorism and role-specific training.
This position is based in Bridgend.

This post requires the successful Candidate to successfully complete vetting to MV/SC and DV Developed Vetting Level.
The post will also require the successful completion of an additional security induction process, part of which requires pre-screening checks of nationality and foreign connections. It must be stressed that this is in addition to Force Management Vetting. Candidates must achieve both clearances to take up this post.
Employment within Counter Terrorism Policing requires applicants for the role to undertake a further security induction for which British citizenship is required. Failure to hold citizenship would preclude persons for applying for these positions.
