Police Vehicle Technician Apprentice

This is an exciting apprenticeship opportunity to join Thames Valley Police as a Police Vehicle Technician. You will be working as part of the Operational Support department to carry out mechanical servicing, repairs, MOT tests and service/diagnostic activities on the Force’s wide-ranging fleet of modern vehicles.
To develop you as an efficient and effective Police Vehicle Technician, you will undertake the Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician Level 3 apprenticeship. You will receive structured off the job development, supported by workplace learning and mentoring.
As you develop your skills, your role will be to assist and work with the technician you are mentored by, gradually improving your knowledge and skill set allowing a staged reduction in supervision to occur, until you are able to work unsupervised and be classed as a fully qualified vehicle technician
The successful applicant will be aged 17 or over and will hold a valid DVLA licence (or be willing to work towards). They will have an interest in vehicles, alongside the ability to work as part of a team and communicate with a range of people.
The apprenticeship is aimed at those who do not have experience as a Vehicle Technician and/or have not achieved qualifications in this field.
