Our chaplaincy service is embedded within our force, chaplains provide impartial, confidential, spiritual and pastoral support to officers and staff, regardless of their faith or beliefs. Our Lead Chaplain will manage and co-ordinate a small team of volunteer Chaplains.
Lead Chaplains also provide strategic support, including ethical advice and guidance to the service, inform policies and practices and are available as a resource in operational situations.
The ability to build strong relationships built on acceptance and trust with officers, staff, and the communities the force serves, is essential. Lead Chaplains have a distinctive role to inform, promote and support all protected characteristics, particularly that of faith and belief within the Equality and Diversity framework.
