The Opportunity:
British Transport Police have an opportunity for a Police National Computer (PNC) & Records Officer to join the Police National Computer Bureau Department. As a PNC & Records Officer with BTP, you will provide a vital service supporting frontline policing by maintaining the accuracy, integrity and effectiveness of the Police National Computer (PNC), and its successor the Law Enforcement Database System (LEDS), mission-critical systems used across UK law enforcement and criminal justice agencies.
You will play a key role in updating, reviewing and managing PNC records in line with national policy and legislation, ensuring that critical information is available to support investigations, identify offenders and recover property.
In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for the administration and weeding of warrants, as well as the maintenance, interrogation and analysis of PNC data to the highest standards. You will also manage Arrest Summons (AS) numbers, ensuring systems are updated using information from the Crown Prosecution Service and courts, while working within strict timescales to meet compliance requirements including VCOP, MOPI, DPA and FOI.
