The Police Led Prosecution team attend Birmingham Magistrates’ on behalf of West Midlands Police, in order to prosecute minor traffic offence, drunk and disorderly and non-racially aggravated s.5 public order offences for the whole of the geographical West Midlands area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attending court to prosecute cases on behalf of WMP.
- Review not guilty files including, serving disclosure if necessary and applications to vacate.
- Complete new recruit training at Tally Ho.
- Liaising with HMCTS and CPS to ensure the smooth progression of cases including, Statutory Declarations and Reopening under s.142 MCA 1980.
- Complete Pre-Charge Advice.

Vetting: Successful applicants will be required to pass Recruitment/Management Vetting and Counter Terrorism/Security Clearance scrutiny prior to commencing their role, this will include a full background & financial disclosure as part of the vetting process.
Medical: Appointment to this role will be dependent upon you successfully passing medical checks, which may include a drug and hearing test.
Hours/Location: The hours of work are 36.5hrs a week at times agreed by management. Duties may vary according to local operational needs.
