As a newly recruited Police Constable, you'll spend your first two years developing your skills and experience before moving into one of Cheshire Constabulary's Neighbourhood Policing Units where you will play a key role in creating safer communities and addressing the issues that matter most to local people.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Be a trusted presence in Cheshire’s communities, providing reassurance, preventing crime, and protecting the public.
  • Respond to incidents, assess risk, and use your judgement to resolve situations effectively.
  • Protect vulnerable individuals and support victims at times when they need help most.
  • Build strong relationships with residents, businesses, schools, and partner organisations to help tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.
  • Use your problem-solving and decision-making skills to make a lasting difference to the communities you serve.

Police officers are more than uniforms; they are problem solvers, community leaders and protectors who make a lasting difference where it matters most.

With regards to eligibility,

  • You must hold a Level 3 qualification (two A Levels grade A*-D) or equivalent qualification or hold a qualification gained outside England and Wales considered by the UK National recognition Information Centre to be Level 3. Please ensure if you hold an international qualification, that you have proof of comparison at time of application. Please note, we will be unable to progress any candidates that do not provide proof of comparison. We will also consider anybody without the above who has relevant experience.
  • You must be 18 years of age by the intake date
  • You must hold a Full UK manual driving license. 
  • Please note that if you have any tattoos, photographs MUST be uploaded in the attachment section of the application form. You will also need to provide information on where the tattoos are located and a full description. Failure to provide this information, may result in your application being delayed. 

We anticipate a lot of interest in this opportunity and as such, the application window will remain open for a minimum of 48 hours, after which we will continually monitor the number of applications that we receive to ensure that we are able to manage the recruitment process and your candidate journey throughout this campaign.

Online Support Session - Candidates who are successful at the eligibility stage will be invited to attend an online National Sift and Online Assessment Centre Information Session. During this session, we will explain the next stages of the recruitment process, provide helpful hints and tips, and give candidates the opportunity to ask any questions they may have. The session will take place on 27 October from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Invitations will be issued once your application has been reviewed.
