Police Constable Entry Programme (PCEP)

Police Constable Entry Programme (PCEP) for both Uniformed and Detective Pathway with Cleveland Police

Have you ever thought of being a Police Constable? With a starting salary of £31,164 plus a large variety of benefits, staff associations and generous pension scheme, there may never have been a better time to join. Interested? Please apply below!

As a Police Constable you'll play a vital role in ensuring that the communities of Cleveland are kept safe. It isn’t easy but it is rewarding and can be a career like no other. We want people to join us who have a range of life experiences and backgrounds; it is vitally important that we represent all the communities that we serve.

Do you have an analytical mind and love to solve problems? Then you may wish to continue your application on our Detective Pathway. You will complete your initial training and your tutor phase within our response/neighbourhood policing, before you move on to an investigative role.

During the application, you will be asked to tick your preferred pathway via the Police Constable Entry Programme.

Police constable entry programme (PCEP)

The PCEP does not require you to study for a university qualification during probation. This route normally takes two years, after which, if you successfully complete probation, you become a PC. As set out in Police Regulation 10 (opens an external website in the same tab), you will need a level 3 (opens an external website in the same tab) qualification to join (two A-levels or the equivalent) or significant and equivalent work experience
