Police Constable - Maritime Intelligence Officer (CTP JMSC)

We welcome applications from Police Constables for the role of a Maritime Intelligence Officer within Counter Terrorism Borders, based within the Joint Maritime Security Centre (CTP JMSC). 

The team works within a maritime multi-agency centre, looking to understand and mitigate national security threats in the maritime domain across our defined core modes (Commercial maritime, General maritime, Freight, Ports and Infrastructure and Cruise).

The role involves seeking opportunities to improve the network’s intelligence picture through engagement and operational activity as well as providing specialist maritime support to the CT network and wider maritime policing.

This role requires someone with a strong background in handling and developing intelligence in line with national guidelines, utilising the various tools and methods at their disposal to develop intelligence and mitigate risks in the maritime. 

The role requires the post holder to undertake call-out duties.

Please note that this role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you may be required to travel for business purposes mainly across the south east region and occasionally throughout the UK. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence. 

Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level DV.  In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past ten years. Exemptions apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad. Please be aware that if successful there are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries once in post
