Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) i
Locations: Across Lancashire
We are recruiting Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) across Lancashire.
These are full-time, permanent roles, with part-time and flexible working options considered after training.
About the Role
PCSOs are at the heart of neighbourhood policing. You will provide a visible, reassuring presence in communities, working closely with the public and police officers to prevent crime and build trust.
This is a rewarding role where you can make a real difference every day.
What You’ll Do
- Engage with people from all backgrounds
- Build relationships within local communities
- Identify and help solve local issues
- Patrol neighbourhoods on foot
- Provide crime prevention advice
- Support policing activity (e.g. CCTV gathering)
- Work with schools, young people, and community groups
(PCSOs do not have powers of arrest, but play a key role in reducing crime and increasing public confidence)

Locations
We recruit local people to serve their communities across Lancashire, from Fleetwood to Skelmersdale, and the Ribble Valley to Whitworth.
You’ll be asked to select your preferred posting area during application.
Recruitment Process - Important Dates:
- National Sift: 5–12 October 2026
- Interviews: 9–13 November 2026 (Hutton HQ)
- Pre-employment Checks: From 1 December 2026
- Start Date: 1 March 2027
Training lasts 8 weeks at Hutton HQ (no leave permitted during this period).
