The principal responsibility of the Planning and Performance Manager is to carry out the coordination of performance review, planning and risk management within and across Force and Alliance business units or business areas (victims, safeguarding, demand management), including the identification, implementation and monitoring of changes and innovations that will contribute to the delivery of improved services.
In particular to:
- Being the business unit senior management team lead and subject matter expert for managing, monitoring and reviewing organisational performance
- Senior management team lead and subject matter expert on risk management processes and the management of and coordination of activity contained within departmental / BCU risk registers.
- Being the lead and subject matter expert in facilitating and guiding the planning and recommendation management process for business unit areas senior management teams in line with corporate processes, also leading on and supporting individual programmes / projects. .
- Identification of and monitoring of the activity required to ensure compliance with the requirements of national standards relevant to the role holder portfolio.
- Acting as force practitioner lead for a specific corporate development portfolio (performance, planning, risk management, etc.).
- The representation and advocacy of Performance & Analysis Department, its products and processes in design reviews and other ad hoc activity.
This list of duties is not restrictive or exhaustive and the post-holder may be required to carry out duties from time to time that are either commensurate with/or lower than the grade of the post. In some posts this might include the ad-hoc provision of guidance and informal training of new colleagues.
