Deputy Chief Finance Officer
The Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Police and Crime Commissioners are offering an exceptional and rewarding opportunity for a confident, dynamic, and self-motivated professional to join our teams as a Deputy Chief Finance Officer.
This is a unique, high-impact role working across two forward-thinking OPCCs, where you’ll play a pivotal part in shaping financial strategy and supporting the delivery of effective and efficient policing services across both counties.

Hybrid working with time spent across key office locations:
- Nottinghamshire: Sherwood Lodge & Loxley House
- Derbyshire: Butterley Hall, Ripley
About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside senior leaders, supporting the Chief Finance Officer (Nottinghamshire) and the Chief Operating Officer (Derbyshire).
You’ll work closely with both statutory s151 officers to:
- Provide strategic financial leadership and direction
- Help drive innovation and continuous improvement
- Support the Police and Crime Commissioners in delivering their statutory duty to ensure an efficient and effective police service
You’ll be employed by the Nottinghamshire PCC, with your time equally split between Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, offering variety, challenge, and the chance to make a real difference across two organisations. You will be required to hold Management vetting (must have resided in the UK for the past 5 years). Political restriction will apply to this post.

For current Nottinghamshire Police Staff applicants, please note that the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner would be a new employer. However, an agreement has been made whereby all tenure and length of service will be honoured.
Vetting Level – Management – you must have resided in the UK for at least the last 5 years, with less than 12 months spent abroad (some exceptions for those living on a UK military base).

This is expected to enable better join up with local services across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
Functions delivered by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) will still be required under the new Mayoral model and TUPE (the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006) has applied where such transfers have occurred elsewhere in the country and should therefore apply to staff in the employment of the OPCC in Nottinghamshire at that time.
