Intelligence Development Officer (OPAL)
Opal are the National Intelligence Unit for Serious and Organised Acquisitive Crime and we are growing and developing our capabilities!
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Staff Intelligence Development Officers to work within the serious, organised acquisitive crime (SOAC) National Intelligence team. We are looking for a dynamic, driven and experienced applicant to join our team.
The purpose of the role is to develop intelligence in line with Opal Terms of Reference, taking account of national SOAC strategy and the Opal delivery plan. Providing a National focus on Serious and Organised Acquisitive Crime. We work extensively with partners from agriculture to business crime in order to make the UK a hostile environment for would-be offenders and prevent crime from occurring.
You will be required to demonstrate in your application the minimum requirement for the role:
- Must be able to demonstrate and evidence a good knowledge of the National Intelligence Model, the Criminal Justice System, Criminal Procedures and Investigations Act and Police procedures relating to the investigation of crime.
- Must have knowledge of CPIA, disclosure processes and procedures relating to third party material.
- Must have an understanding of RIPA.
- Must have a sound operational background with proven investigative experience.
- Experience of preparing intelligence packages.
- Must demonstrate recent experience in the collation, analysis and dissemination of information and intelligence.
- Must demonstrate in-depth partnership working.
- Have experience of applying a 4Ps strategy (prevent, prepare, protect, and pursue) to tackling criminality.
The role being advertised is entirely remote and is a 1 year fixed term contract.
