The Opportunity:
Are you looking for your next exciting career move? British Transport Police have an excellent opportunity for an Occurrence Management Unit (OMU) Team Manager to join the Contact Management Department. As an OMU Team Manager with BTP, you will provide strong leadership and expert oversight within the Occurrence Management Unit, acting as the force’s Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Occurrence Management in your role as a Dedicated Decision Maker (DDM). You will be responsible for reviewing, authorising, and where necessary declining requests for the reclassification or cancellation of crime, ensuring all decisions are accurate, consistent, and fully compliant with national standards and force policy.
You will lead the development of a centre of excellence for occurrence management, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of crime-related data held on Niche and PNC, while providing assurance across non-crime occurrences. Through visible leadership and support, you will guide OMU Operatives, promoting adherence to legislation and procedures, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining a high-performing, professional team environment.
