Work for the National Police Air Service

People join NPAS because they want to make a difference as part of something unique.

We're a national service with a clear purpose: to provide effective and efficient air support to police forces across England and Wales, helping them to save lives, tackle criminality and keep people safe.

Behind every successful NPAS mission is a huge amount of planning, innovation and teamwork.

And at the heart of that is our highly skilled and committed Projects Team.

Senior Project Manager

The projects we deliver help police forces find missing people, track suspects, support major incidents and keep communities safer. Whether it's introducing new technology, upgrading aircraft systems or helping deliver a brand-new fleet, the work behind the scenes has a direct impact on frontline policing.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead our Projects Team and help drive some of the biggest and most exciting changes taking place across NPAS.

What you'll be doing

You'll:

  • Lead and support a team delivering a wide range of projects and programmes.
  • Make sure projects stay on track, achieve their objectives and deliver real benefits.
  • Manage risks, budgets, timelines and stakeholder relationships.
  • Work with colleagues across policing, government and industry.
  • Support major projects including fleet replacement, aircraft modifications, technology enhancements and service improvements.
  • Help turn big ideas into practical solutions that improve the way NPAS operates.

About you

You'll be someone who enjoys solving problems, bringing people together and seeing projects through from concept to completion.

You should have experience leading complex projects or transformation programmes and be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders. You'll know how to balance the big picture with the day-to-day detail and have the confidence to challenge, influence and drive progress when needed.

A project management qualification such as PRINCE2 or APM is important and experience in a public sector or regulated environment would be beneficial. Experience within aviation or policing would be helpful, but it isn't essential.

If you're looking for a role where your expertise can make a real difference, where you'll work on projects of national importance with local impact, we’d love to hear from you.
