About the RoleWe are recruiting for a Motor Claims Technician within Legal Services to coordinate and manage motor claims and incidents, ensuring they are handled efficiently, accurately, and in line with legal and organisational requirements.
Working within a professional, detail-focused, and collaborative team, you will play a key role in protecting organisational resources while supporting fair and proportionate outcomes.
Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will:
- Manage and coordinate motor incidents and pre-action claims from initial notification through to resolution
- Review PVIR reports, evidence, and correspondence to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Liaise with internal departments and external partners to gather evidence and supporting information
- Assess liability and determine the appropriate course of action for claims
- Monitor claims progression with insurers and agents, escalating where required
- Manage financial aspects of claims, including reserves, payments, and accurate record-keeping
- Pursue recovery of costs in third-party liability cases
- Support the Deputy Head of Legal Services with litigated claims and administrative tasks
We are seeking candidates who:
- Have at least two years’ experience in a claims handling role
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Have strong organisation and prioritisation abilities
- Are confident managing a varied caseload independently
- Communicate clearly and professionally with a range of stakeholders
- Take a proactive and solution-focused approach
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Starting salary: £32,613 (rising with service)
- Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
