Description of Department:

MO19 is a complex command providing dedicated firearms pre-planned and response function across the MPS. The OCU also provides all firearms and Taser training as well as firearms licensing and policy support to the wider organisation.

Description of Role:

Applications invited to join MO19 in the role of a Counter Terrorist Specialist Firearms Inspector. This is a rewarding armed role working in a fast moving and challenging environment.

Work within the CTSFO Operations is varied and rewarding. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to experience a wide spectrum of operational firearms duties within the MPS and working alongside CTSFO National Network colleagues.

MPS CTSFO’s are responsible for providing specialist capability support to the most high risk and challenging of operations.

They provide covert & overt firearms responses and offer enhanced capabilities in numerous areas including:

  • Enhanced Weapons Systems
  • Explosive Method of Entry
  • Marine Environments
  • Helicopter Fast Roping
  • Tactical Abseil
  • CBRN
  • SFE – Smoke Filled Environment
  • Motorcycle
  • CAT - Counter Assault Team
  • Specialist Munitions
  • Night Vision
  • Close Target Reconnaissance
  • Dynamic Entry and Intervention Capabilities

The successful Inspector candidates are expected to take lead on some of these portfolio areas on behalf of the CTSFO OPS CI.

This application is open to Substantive Inspectors.

If successful at the paper-sift stage candidates will be invited for an interview.

Period of Posting: minimum 2-year tenure.
