Job Title: MBS Reporting Senior Analyst
Salary: The starting salary is £ 48,995, which includes allowances totalling £3,009.
The salary is broken down as £ 45,986 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £ 54,863. Plus, a location allowance of £2,009 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Background to the Role
Met Business Services (MBS) is a new way for the Met to deliver enabling services to all of our officers and staff. MBS is a front-line focused services organisation that sets our people up to succeed, reduces admin, provides a single source of truth for all HR, Finance and Commercial data, providing a critical cornerstone to fix our foundations.
MBS will help every person and supplier working with the Met by:
- Building a modern and efficient industry-standard business services directorate, building and pooling key specialist capabilities, strengthening HR, Finance and Commercial functions whilst removing functional silos;
- Designing end-to-end services, building them the needs of the users rather than in functional process silos and seamlessly integrating them regardless of how they are delivered; and
- Providing easy-to-use interfaces and ‘one-touch’ services for end-users that leverage the potential of contemporary technologies like automation and low-code workflows.

Role Description
The Met Leadership have approved the design and implementation of a centralised service delivery model (MBS), to replace functional services with business services, breaking down silos and building end-to-end services around user requirements. The initial scope of the MBS model will be MPS Commercial, Finance and HR scope of services functions with the flexibility and scalability of bringing additional new services into it.
A key enabler of the MBS led transformation is the implementation of a new Data and Solutions Capability within MBS. The MBS Reporting Senior Analysts will drive, manage and maintain reporting and analysis services throughout the reporting lifecycle to enable data-driven decision making and support compliance with relevant regulations. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, they will establish reporting best practice and promote a culture of data driven actions and decisions. They will also promote the benefits and create the training and technical communications required to all users of the new MBS reporting platform.
The MBS Reporting Senior Analyst will report into the MBS Reporting Lead, they will be responsible for managing, and have the support of, the MBS Reporting Analyst to deliver reporting processes and improvements across MBS functions. The MBS Reporting team will work alongside the other Data Pillars including Data Quality, Data Management and Data Governance to enhance data capability across the Met.
Key Responsibilities
What does the average day look like? Your core duties will include (but are not limited to):
MBS Reporting
- Lead design and build of visually compelling dashboards and reports to drive business insight based on stakeholder requirements
- Management of gathering reporting needs, gather requirements, and define KPIs, measures and metrics for reporting solutions and store this critical data centrally
- Analyse data within delivered reports to provide pertinent insight for all stakeholders to inform strategic decision-making
- Support the Reporting Lead with the execution of a reporting capability that can adjust to dynamically changing business needs and technology enhancements that ensures the reports are continuously relevant and valued by the business, providing the right data to the right people in the right way.
- Lead all reporting and dashboard testing based on a defined strategy to make sure a high level of quality assurance and all requirements are met before reports/dashboards are published
- Monitor reporting and dashboard usage and report to the reporting lead and senior MBS leaders on report lifecycle and diagnosis to determine if reports; remain, require change or need to be retired
- Lead the research, design, develop, test, and deploy new reporting features and enhancements
- Manage the deliver timely, high quality and insightful outputs, utilizing Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) to create effective reports relevant to stakeholder requirements
- Own the creating of all technical documentation required to support the team. This includes to metadata and reporting data repository Single data set, one version of the truth
- Ensure usability and user experience of reporting tools are optimised for maximum impact
